We found Wegmeyer last year and had a fun morning picking strawberries, so we were delighted that, even in these confusing times, they found a way for families to safely pick berries in the field. The COVID-19 regulations actually made it easier to pick berries because they were strategic about where people picked, allowing berries to ripen and urging people only to take what was ripest. We entered a row knowing that no one else had picked from the plants at our feet. This made it easy to see what was ripe and really let the kids participate.

Love this place. This is the second year we've come to pick strawberries here. The people are so friendly, the field is so nicely organized, and of course, the strawberries are delicious! The buckets cost 1 apiece and the strawberries are 3.99 per pound. however, I was told that if you mention the capital mama website you can get a 25% discount. Regardless, it's totally worth it.
