As they say, it is what you make it. Yes there are circumstances that come around and other trainees that are iffy but then again the world isn't perfect. And if you can't take the little issues here and do what you need to do in orfer to succeed in a FREE program, then I highly doubt you'd have the capacity to deal with worst situations in life. Whether at work, at home, or in school, anywhere there are problematic people and people with attitudes. Learn to deal with your own thoughts of how you handle these situations. We all have our own experiences. Staff is great, not all are as willing to help but also if you don't ask for what you need, they won't be handing it around either. Over all a great experience, you learn a lot if you go for what you went for to begin with. The certifications, food, living there, trips, all are free. No reason anyone should be complaining. Just take advantage of the opportunity go for what you went, keep on pushing when you feel like quitting and you'll be good.

Matt Davis, Pet young (Bully) and Adam they are all incompetent no direction what's so ever, mis using government resources and egoistic fools. (peter make the company (-250000 in one quarter) They are very much scare of their own deed and fire people if they did not like someone, based on color, origin and religious background. They are discriminative towards all students and treat them as third class citizens.

Would give it zero stars but don't have that option... Long Beach Job Corps is a great opportunity and I encourage anyone trying to get their life together to go there but if you are just trying to go to have a place to stay. Don't. My son has went there and they terminated him for something he never did, my son even had a witness who saw it all but still denied him in the end. If you go there I suggest you keep your head down and just do what you went for. The school is full of delinquents and ghetto people. recently they just started to accept "nerds" kids who won't get in trouble but are social outcasts...there is only a hand full of nice people there. the trades are available anywhere so if you have the chance to take a trade up anywhere else...I suggest you take it. The staff are only in it for themselves and care about one person...which is themselves....they act like they care but don't actually go that extra mile for anyone but themselves. Only a handful of staff actually care...but if you even look at some of the staff work schedules its a joke...some of the staff come in at 11am and don't do anything but just pretend to look things up on their computers. It's an easy job opportunity even for the center director...this is all coming from a former trainee who attended Job Corps once...I suggest you get a job and work from there...if you honestly have no other option then I suggest you go there but if there are other options available to you....take them because this school is honestly worst than any other school any human being has attended...

I recommend going there for a trade and nothing else. It is also very easy to get caught up in this place either with the trainees or even the staff. there is a man by the last name Byers who apparently hates white people and holds a grudge against them with white trainees in his class and also be careful of RA's as some of them will try to punk you if you plan on attending with desperation for a place and/or just in general. There's good people too,you just gotta find them among the surronding, ghetto, negative influence filling the place. If you are a quiet person who don't talk much then you have the best of luck here.

My daughter has grown as person in just 6 weeks,it is what you make it...we should all feel blessed to have JC not complain about how unhappy you are, that's a lot of money our federal government gives each and every student. Be grateful for everything and remember God has a plan for us all

it can be as good as you want it to be..Free field tips, housing, food and education but besides that a lot of the staff think they can walk all over you so just be careful if you come here :)

I went there for a year or so; it's "okay" for a trade school. The only thing that I would recommend is to reevaluate the quality of the training. I also wished I wasn't suffering from too many mentality problems that I developed while attending there. The instructors there were alright, but the biggest issue that I've had was the students that attended there. Warning: If you're not used to being around people who lived in the ghetto, you'll be in quite a pickle. For example, if you're a male and a virgin, rumors will spread around campus saying that you're gay. If you're also the kind of person who never smoked weed, you'll probably be rejected by your peers. Oh and don't be alarmed about your roommates doing drugs in the room; it's quite normal. If a staff member snaps at you for some odd reason, keep in mind that they dealt with too many problematic adult-sized kids at the facility (Ex. Paul, fat black cow from pharmacy class). Sincerely, LBJC Alumni

I had my son go there and it was terrible for him. You have to look out for ms mckenzie, she does not care about any trainee that gies through those gates. All she cares about is kicking kids out and smiling in their face when they are packing their stuff up. She does not put any tgought proccess in when she thinks about situations. If you plan on going to the lbjc do not go with her in office.
