Great course, I've played here for over 25 years. Always in good condition, it's a decently challenging hilly layout. Great value for what it costs to play there relative to other options in the area. Pace of play is good on all but the busiest of times. My last round we caught up to some backed up golfers on #12 and had a short wait on most tees the rest of the way but still finished in 3 hours and 40 minutes. If you've never played here give it a try!

Played here on a Monday in September 2018. I rented clubs (Strata) and the off at 9:15. They have a driving range and putting green for practice. The pro shop is limited but have what you need. The course has some elevation changes and most holes were in good condition. The course was busy but the pace was good and we got around in 4 hours. If you found my review helpful please give a thumbs up

My fist time playing here - we had an unusually warm day after Xmas. Given folks are still out for holidays I was able to get in easily, otherwise I think it could get crowded. Beautiful course and one of the best \public\ courses if you live in southern Alexandria area. It's a national park course so affordable and well kept. I have played at both public and private courses and this one is maintained well and well worth the money you pay and at the same time cheaper than private and other well known courses in the area. It has right blend of easy and challenging holes. Front nine is easier than back nine. I recommend a cart unless you really are in physically good shape - course is long and had a lot of ups and downs which makes it really tough to walk. Call ahead for rates and booking. Given its a good course I can see that it could get crowded easily. But if you don't mind getting up early and taking an early tee time then you should be good and not get a delayed due to backups. I am not giving it five stars as I have only played here once and I am yet to play here in summer. Overall highly recommend for Alexandria area.

Nice course, terrible management. I'm not one to complain -- in fact, I've never once written a bad review for any golf course -- but our experience today was unforgettably bad. Three of us paid for 18 holes at a 2:48p tee time. We thoroughly analyzed whether we'd be able to get a full 18 in before dark, and decided that a 2:48 tee time in October would allow it, figuring it'd be too dark by about 7:15. Our estimate was correct. We finished 17 at about 6:50pm, but when we reached the 18th hole teebox, a course employee came driving down the fairway and yelled that we were supposed to have the carts back to the clubhouse by 6:05pm. No one had ever told us of this supposed 6:05pm deadline. The guy kept reiterating 6:05pm as if it was some official time that ended golf everywhere in the world. He wouldn't allow us to hit drives on 18, so we were told we had to drive to the 100 yard marker and drop to play in from there. As we drove up 18, another golf employee started screaming about 6:05pm. I've played a lot of golf in my life, but I've never once been harassed by course employees for an arbitray \ending time\ that was never communicated to anyone in my group. It's a shame, and it was immensely frustrating, considering that we all keep handicaps and wanted to post scores on the 18th hole. We will never play Pohick Bay again.
