I actually like and prefer Marugame more at Stones town. The portions were huge but I didn't like that udon that much. It's across from the popular bookstore in Los Angeles.

This place is some of the best cook it yourself Shabu Shabu on the Westside of Los Angeles. It is a little bit pricey but worth it for how fresh the food is. Service was good, food was fresh, and staff was friendly. You can share a platter but they do charge a 5 dollar fee for this which I found to be a bit ridiculous. If you want a great cool it yourself place and good service then come here.

I finished the whole combination meal by myself. Add side order beef. Expensive but all good quality food, especially seafood.

A rather upscale shabu shabu experience. I'm personally not a fan of the flavorless broth approach, but the available sauces and seasoning did a decent job. Overheard that this restaurant will be under new management soon so take my review with a grain of salt :)

Always our go-to place for shabushabu and each time still amazed by how energetic their hostess was! You choose the type and size of your meat (well, or seafood), regular or organic veggies (customizable), and udon or glass noodles. Whether you prefer seasame paste or ponzu yuzu sauces, the dippings were just addictive. Thank you for treating us with homemade peanuts and apple pies!

Located right on the corner of Sawtelle and La Grange. Parking can be tricky to find, it's either street or there's a paid lot on the other side of La Grange. The pros: Very nice and clean atmosphere. Mostly bar seating with a few tables scattered throughout, probably not ideal for large parties unless you don't mind being spread out. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. Probably some of the best cuts of beef I've had at a shabu shabu place. Rather than getting large portions of one type, grab small plates of their variety and see what you like best! The cons most people may have: No flavored broth. People want their sodium and options. I personally didn't mind as it let me taste the different flavors of the meat better. The cost. Because of the smaller portions with a slightly higher price point I feel like the cost is a tiny bit on the high end. It definitely means this will be more of an occasional dinner rather than a usual spot.
