I believe Dr. Nissen saved my life. He’s professional, compassionate, and communicative. And a really exceptional surgeon. His staff is wonderful also (which can often make or break one’s experience. )

I can sit and tell the world what a wonderful doctor you are. To give you the title of just a doctor or just a surgeon. To me you way much more than that, you sir are truly a gift to the world and that still is not enough. You are truly an amazing human being. And I wish to call you one day as my friend when this is completely over. You have saved my life and I am forever in your debt. Thank you for saving my life. I will never ever forget this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. J. S. And for anyone who happens to be in a tough situation, all I will say to you is if you have Dr. Nissen, you already have the best in the world. Just listen to him, he won’t guide you wrong. Be positive and go in with an open mind. Life is a battle! It’s how you handle your mind to not let you give up. And Stop googling everything you read online. It’s not gonna help you.

I live in Bakersfield, the oncology division of a certain hospital wanted to treat my liver cancer with radioactive beads. I was told that surgery to remove the cancer would kill me.They said that the cancer was too large and there would not be much liver left after the surgery. They told my wife this will not going to be a happy ending. That same day we drove to Cedars Sinai Hospital. Cedars told me that I was going to die one day just like Bakersfield had told me ............... BUT it wasn't going to be any time soon and NOT from this cancer. I met Dr.Nissen .......he told me he new the problem and he would preform the needed surgery. He did the surgery and that was 3 years ago and I feel great, enjoy life, enjoy my grandchildren and I'm in the gym 4 times a week and still running my construction company ........... BUT I'm still a kid born in 1948 !
