I purchase most of my Kansas fescue seed for overseeding or new sod from Cranmer grass. The service is pretty quick and the prices are fair. Basic Customer Service engagement level could be improved. This is not my first visit noticing this.

The most beautiful grass you will find anywhere I have used Cranmer grass twice the first time back in 2000 when we built our new home in Whitetail and that was approximately 15000 sqft that my wife and I laid ourselves and the second time in 2012 when we moved to the Kansas City area and built new home and when it came the landscaping hands down my grass was coming from Cranmer grass farm and yes I had to pay mileage but it was well worth it and you look at my grass and then my neighbors and I just smile and so will you when you get your grass from Cranmer grass farm
Best grass around, but worst customer service. Help is rude and they act like they’re doing you a favor. If I owned the place, I’d clean house with people who smile and greet customers in a positive manner. Then, they’d be five stars, hands down.
I called up to Cranmer a couple days ago asking about their Bermuda sod prices. The first girl I talked to on the phone was ok. She seemed new so couldn't answer all of my questions, but she was nice enough. I asked a few more questions; if she could tell me what species of Bermuda they sold and how much they charged for delivery. Quickly, she had to get someone else on the phone to answer my questions and the next lady was not very friendly. She answered the phone \What are you needing?\ in an irritated tone, like I was bothering them. I told her the information I was looking for and she gave me a short generic answer of \it's 100 if within the City of Wichita\. She didn't care to ask where I lived to provide a specific quote for what I needed. She just wanted to get off the phone as quick as she could so she could get back to whatever she was doing. Not the service I would have expected from this company being as well known as they are. I guess maybe they've grown too big to care about customer service. I would've expected a little more friendly of a conversation from a place you are planning to spend 2-3000 for sod.
The grass at Cranmer is top of the line, better than competitors. I use Cranmer's SOD and seed and have for years, but am selective when to go pick my supplies up. I call ahead to make sure Rich is working because the other females, especially the elder are NOT people that I would have greeting customers. A few days back, I went to pick up SOD and seed, I was out and about, so, didn't call not knowing that Rich wasn't there, will NOT make that mistake again. The elder lady was there and it was NOT a good experience. I will not be back if Rich is not there, not worth the piss attitude you get when you get in there, I'll go across town to Sod Shop for a lesser Sod rather than darken the door again.......PERIOD.
