As a full-time working mom, I can not express how glad to have my children here (my oldest used to go here also when it was called Fairfax Academy). They don't have a big turn around which is a plus, a lot of the care providers when my daughter went there about 14 yrs ago are still there, which puts me at ease. Having to leave my babies in someone else's care every morning is one of the hardest things I have to do. My heart breaks just a little bit each day, knowing I will miss so many precious moments with my children, while someone else will be there to witness so many of their \firsts\. It's a feeling I'm sure I share with so many other moms. Thanks to the teachers and staff at Merit School, however, I can feel a little bit better about leaving my kids every day because I know they are in the hands of caring professionals who cherish them (almost as much as we do) and seem to understand how much I must miss them every day. The teachers, director, and assistant director have been fantastic about keeping us up-to-date on the highlights of our children's days, sharing their funny moments and their latest achievements . And the best part is that we don't always have to wait till the end of the day. They send us texts and photos when they know it's a moment we wouldn't want to miss through Precious Status app (I have to say is AWESOME). Their messages brighten my day, make me laugh, and help me to feel that even though we're apart, I'm still with my kids somehow. I'm so grateful to the staff at The Merit School for helping us give our children such a great start in life, and for including us in the moments we would otherwise miss out on. Plus the summer camps they have for every age group. My children love and can't stop talking about the activities and field trips they have taken.

My daughter started here at 6 months old and was in the infant room. She’s now 18 months and is still attending the Merit School. My husband and I love the personalized care she receives. Her teachers and the director treat my daughter as if she was their own. She’s learned sign language and communicates with my husband and I that way. Her motor skills are incredible and she’s just a great communicator. I attribute her progress to this school. The school is beautiful and very well taken care of! The outside play area is huge and organized well. I just can’t say enough about how much I love this place. The staff is SO communicative with my husband and I whenever anything comes up. They do lots of appreciation activities for the staff and they also made presents for my husband and I at Christmas, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day. They’re very sweet sentimental gifts. You’re making a good choice if you choose this place.
My daughter has been attending the Merit School of Manassas Park for almost 3 years. In that time, I have seen her grow and blossom into a happy, loving, and independent little girl. Each school year my daughter has moved up through the different classrooms and has had wonderful teachers that support and guide her academically, emotionally, and socially. All of the staff members are wonderful, friendly, and easy to communicate with. I am very satisfied with my experience at the Merit School!
Merit has been part of our family for 3 years now. Before our first child, we visited a number of other schools, when we walked out of Merit we knew this was the right one for us - it was clean, safe, fairly priced and staff was great. Our kids love their teachers and they have become part of the family!
My son has been going to Merit school since last year. It was the best decision I have made. I love his teachers and the principal is very prompt and friendly. They have a thorough lesson plan, which has helped my 4 year old learn a lot. Very nurturing environment!
