Manhattan Beach Freedom surf camp

I chose Freedom Surf because they maintain excellent counselor-to-student ratios, they offer the most water time of any beach camp in town, and they don't push the kids to surf if they are not ready for it. My 7 year old twins love playing in the ocean and boogie boarding, but have never surfed before going to Freedom. We signed up for Mon-Fri 9-3 and my kids LOVED every minute of it! My son surfed within the first hour and hasn't stopped. My daughter was a little nervous and surfed the very first day. My kids raved about the counselors being so nice and they were always so professional and fun with the kids. They put safety first maintaining excellent counselor to student ratios, and work one-on-one with the new surfers. There were days when the waves were high and and my daughter didn't want to surf. The counselors worked with her very closely, but never pushed her. After a couple of days of just boogie boarding, she tried it again and loved it. I think she was willing to try it again because she trusted that the counselors wouldn't force her. She was so proud of herself. We have done other beach camps in the past and my kids always wanted more time in the water than they were allowed. Freedom Surf offered everything we wanted and far exceeded our expectations!!
