This is arguably one of the best stores around the Lansing area. If you want to talk guns and such, this is the place. Other stores just don’t have the selection. The staff are knowledgeable and concise without being overbearing. The range is good as well, they treat you like an adult unlike some other ranges around town. Also, I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen a store with a fishing section that is just as big as the gun section. I’m not much of a fisher but my buddies are and they were pleasantly surprised. Now with the COVID stuff to be honest it is what it is and they have the right to operate how they want to. Simply budget your time accordingly and bring a jacket because you may have to wait in line outside for a bit. I’m not going to disregard or waive off others negative experiences, however I personally have had no problems with either this place or the staff.

Hubby took me to purchase a firearm. We were greeted by friendly associates as soon as we walked in. The store is huge, and it has a gun range available. Although currently, no new shooters were allowed to use it due to COVID regulations-not their fault. The associates were all knowledgeable, outgoing and very engaging. I was even given tips on how to shoot, how to align my arms & feet. I thought they had a big selection of handguns, but they said there selection is really down as there are many new shooters these days. My salesman was great, offering advice on different firearms. He was efficient with the paperwork. I was very comfortable with his suggestions on which firearm would be a good fit for me. They’re easy to see from the road, shopping area is spacious with large selections of merchandise and close to home. We did compare prices to other stores selling firearms in the Lansing area, and even Bass Pro Shop/Cabelas. Total firearms prices are slightly higher, but I think their knowledge and customer service & location make up for that.

My dad and I went in last Sunday to find some parts to finish an AR I was building. They had everything I was looking for and we were treated wonderfully. I didn’t have my upper assembly with me at the time of purchasing the lower and a scope. Total firearms told me to bring back the scope I purchased and they would mount it on my firearm and bore sight it as well for free because I purchased the scope there. So I drove back up the following Tuesday and Mike mounted an bore-sighted my scope for me. He didn’t try to upsell me anything and took wonderful care of me while I was in there. He was honest and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this store to anyone with firearm, archery or fishing needs!

Total firearms is amazing all the way around. I've used the range and several occasions and it's very affordable. They're pricing is on par. Very knowledgeable salespeople. Never had a bad experience.
