We and two other families drove from GA to spend a long weekend in the beautiful mountains of WV and Kentucky. After a long day of travel we were greeting by clean and comfortable cabins that were perfectly appointed. Each afternoon, upon returning from riding, we enjoyed the camp fire and the kids loved playing in the river. Our cabins had all the kitchen tools we needed to feed our large group. The campground is convenient to the grocery store, gas station and downtown Maetwan with restaurants. Jamie & Hank made sure we had everything we needed, from corn hole to extra bath towels they cared for us like family. Thank you for an amazing experience!

What a beautiful campground The Hatfield Hideout. My family and I enjoyed a weekend at this Awesome campground. If you enjoy nature and history this is your place..locationed on the Tug River and very close to the historic town of Matewan W.V. This campground is also close to the Hatfield Mccoy trails. If you injoy ATV's/UTV's try out these trails Supper FUN!

Jamie was super nice and very accommodating to anything we needed. The RV we stayed in was comfortable and clean, had good wifi and a Roku TV for unwinding on Netflix in the evening. We will definitely be back!

This was our first time traveling to the Hatfield McCoy trails. We searched for a place to camp with our RV and decided on Hatfield's Hideout. It was close to getting on the Devil Anse trails and downtown Matewan because we are very interested in the history as well as the ride. The day we were to check in I spoke to the Manager and let her know we were going to be arriving around 300pm. We were into the last 15 minutes of our travels and our RV overheated on a steep hill. I called the Manager because we were going to be later she said my husband and I will be out to help we can at least take the side by side off to lighten the weight..do you need water or antifreeze? Jaime and her husband stayed with us while our RV cooled down and then led us the rest of the way to the campground. Totally above and beyond any customer service I have ever experienced! They ensured all of our needs were met and hooked us with an awesome ATV guide out of Matewan. The campground was beautiful...quiet, peaceful and right on the Tug river. Nothing like hearing the frogs at night sitting by the fire. The cabins are great and theres a covered wagon you can also stay in. Can not express enough how pleased we were with our stay so Thank you Jaime, Leroy and Hank for making our first experience very memorable. One we will never forget!!

What great people, had an absolute blast. Rented a SXS for three days and it was easy as could be. Machine was “like new” and ran great. Excellent location close to gas, food, Outlaw Trails and three Hatfield & McCoy Trailhead systems. Already planning our trip back for next year!

Great experience here, RV sites are well spaced out and the campground is right across from the Buffalo Mountain trailhead. Owners were super friendly, great water pressure and fantastic Wi-Fi!!
