Could have been a lawsuit! We used Landmark Surveying for our home closing. Despite multiple requests from us and our attorneys for the surveyor to mark and stake the property, they did not! On our day of closing we took one look at the survey and knew something was wrong. They allotted us an additional 6 feet on one side of our home! Multiple calls to the surveyor went ignored. We had our fence contractor out to measure off the property and he refused to work with the survey, as it had our property line 4 feet from our neighbor's door. As he knows properties in our city, we believed his assessment. He warned us we would be sued by both our neighbors and the city if we proceeded with this survey. That would equate to THOUSANDS of dollars in fines, fence relocation and fees! We called the surveyor at least 6 times to express our serious concern and were told many times 'Joaquin' would get back to us immediately. OVER A WEEK later, we finally spoke to him, and NOT by any choice of his. We had to call over and over again!\ Oh mistakes are made\, \Oh we had a hard time finding the points\, on and on. It is in fact, HIS JOB to find the points. That is what surveyors charge such exorbitant rates to do! They finally corrected the survey, AFTER we sent another surveyors survey! This company could have caused us a huge liability and many thousands of dollars. And after all that, they refused to credit us with what they charged. We will notify our attorneys of this and also the State of Florida. Beware Landmark Surveying!
