Hands down the finest institution that I've ever been a guest of. Compared to the old jail its gotta be at least a Holiday Inn. I remember my first visit all the way back in 1995, Friday night drunken frolic through town ended with me passively resisting all the way through the front door. The front was always a good time with the smilin' Sergeant Bernie Zook. I woke up in the morning to the ever cheerful and always welcome Grayland Hobble. With the greatest treasure a prison inmate will ever experience,..........a pack of cigarettes. I lit up and looked around at the 10 cells with there bars, the other guests watching tv and playing cards, Shiiit. I looked at Graland and said \What is this shop class?\. Hahahahahha. So I don't have the memories in the new as I do the old but I didn't leave with an open and weeping patch of MRSA either! So kinda like Bernie in a suit and Bernie in a uniform there the same thing just different! I'm all teared up n home sick now!

I called this facility and asked if they could tell me if my uncle was there... Gave his full name and it states in the paper he is in mifflin county prison.. the man made me wait while he looked supposedly and stated they didn't have this man in their records. If they're not keeping records of the detainees then their facility needs to be shut down. And things need to change. And if this faculty member lied to me, what is that setting for these detainees... Obviously they shouldn't allow faculty to be advising these detainees when they aren't living their life right either. It's a shame that they don't live right or live by a moral code but want to be in charge of people they look down upon that supposedly aren't living by a moral code either. They need to re evaluate their faculty and facility. Our jails are supposed to be there to help get detainees on a straight and narrow path, encouraging them and helping them get their lives together! Sad!

If policies are going to change regarding the operations of the facility due to a new warden, shouldn't the public be made aware of it first. The commissioners meeting is at 7:00pm on Thursday. Families need to stick together and make certain issues brought to the publics attention.
