CSCC is a great place to live. There is truly no place like it. I lived there for over 6 years and just moved out. I have worked in the housing sector for a while now, and I have never had such a good experience when working with management (friendly, helpful, and fair) and the maintenance team (quick to fix things in your apartment and are a great bunch of guys). I have also never felt such a strong sense of community anywhere else, and to top it all off, rent is actually affordable. There is so much diversity within CSCC (due to its high international student population). There are fun and free community activities, and access to other great amenities for CSCC residents including an onsite early learning center (run by a separate organization), a game room, a work out room, playgrounds, green spaces, grills, a soccer field, a basketball court, and a community garden. I will miss living at CSCC very much. You really can’t choose a more affordable or better place to live during your time at the University of Minnesota!

Great place to live! Especially if you have kids. Awesome access to playgrounds, safe space for kids, great neighbors, international community and many community wide events. Nearby to grocery, shopping mall and libraries. The strong negative is only to make people aware of the cleaning issue during the move out process. The management have set an unattainable level of cleaning expectation. We cleaned our apartment for two days and they claimed to have put in 12 hours of work (you apparently get 4 free hours of work - but they never mention it anywhere) including this 4 free hours. They charge 35 per hour. When you move in - take photos of everything. And I mean everything. Note every surface (windows, radiators) that may have tiny scratches or even dust - inside and outside. Same thing with closet. If you think you are being too picky - you are not. Trust me!!!! You will realize this when you move out. Additionally they seem to have this weird fixation with kitchen cabinets. We cleaned our cabinets inside and out and also the front of the cabinet doors and they still claimed to have required 4 hours of cleaning. Completely baffling!!! We even provided photos (some examples below) and they seem to disregard that evidence. And they provided no photo evidence to back their point. We have lived in several apartments over the years in many parts of the country and never have been charged once for cleaning. Beside this one issue - it is a great place to live.

There is no clarity on how the apartments are allotted. The website neither say that the 3 bedroom townhouse is offered only to the families and not to single graduates nor it speaks about the few 3 bedroom townhouses. The people at leasing office speak different things when you raise the concern. Taylor at leasing office mentioned that the 3 bedroom is not offered to single graduates. When I mentioned that it is something we were looking for and since this information is not available on website, we are seeking a refund on application. My call was then forwarded to another official who insisted that they can keep my application for the 3 bedroom when I raised an concern regarding the refund. If it is certain that there will not be any allotments of 3 bedroom townhouse to single graduates what is the use of keeping my application for the same. I'm planning to raise this concern with the University. There has to be clear mention of how many 3 bedroom townhouses are there and if they make allotments to single graduates on it. 50 isn't less amount for the student. Reply: In response to the comment below, I didn't request for 2 bedroom because I didn't want it, my application was simply moved to it. When I requested the refund I was told that we can again move your application to the 3 bedroom townhouse. I don't want an application for 2 bedroom, I would appreciate a refund.

Nice place to live with the exception of my cars getting broken into all the time. As of now they have not taken any appreciable steps to do anything to curb the crime in the community.
