I participated in a sailing expedition in Maine organized by Ben and Teresa. For me it was the first time sailing offshore and it was such a great experience. Everything was very well organized, the boat was in excellent condition. The instructors Arista and Ben were very professional, they were very patient to answer any questions and always open to show how things are done on the boat. I learned a lot about the boat and sailing in the ocean. At the same time the whole trip was just a lot of fun, perfect mix of sailing/lessons/going ashore (amazing views and wildlife). Very memorable experience, would definitely recommend to anyone interested in sailing!

My husband and I spent a week sailing with Morse Alpha Expeditions. The course was fantastic and took our sailing ability to the next level. We learned navigating by charts, sailing in restricted visiblity, radar, and so much more. SV Rocinante is a beautiful boat and the coast of Maine was a perfect training ground.

WOW… what an amazing 6 days of sailing on Rocinante! Ben and Biz’s teaching style made for a stress-free learning environment. I enjoyed rotating through the many different hats you must wear when living aboard which included being the captain for the day BUT also included cleaning the head, being the cook to a very hungry crew, etc. My top highlight on this trip was learning how to navigate with charts, parallel rulers, compass and dividers (I don’t call them calipers anymore… LOL) to figure out where you are instead of depending on GPS. My lowlight was feeling a bit green on our overnight sail where we did 3 hour watches but I would do it again in a heartbeat (I would just try a different motion sickness treatment…LOL). This trip really exceeded my expectations. My husband and I signed up for the “Rugged Maine Coast” but my guess is that any one of their expeditions will not disappoint! Now we are in the process of looking for a bigger boat that we can live aboard during the summer months for now; who knows, maybe the “for now” will be forever.
