Clean, quiet, and amazingly faster internet. Nearly 100 MB download and 50 upload. Great views of the high desert landscape and a great place to take a rest.

probably one of the more remote rest areas along any highway in the lower 48. Very clean & well maintained facility. You cant help but wonder what life mustve been like along the mouth of the Musselshel, with the steamboat traffic on the Upper Missouri on their way to Ft. Benton back in the day. The area was a favorite hunting grounds for the Assiniboine, Crow, Blackfeet, Blood, Piegan, Cree and other tribes. You would of had to have been a tough hombre to be a woodhawk aka woodchopper for the steamboats needing a cord of wood for every river mile back in those days to paddle thru the heart of Native hunting grounds. Cottonwood thrived in the area but is a soft wood & burned quickly, the steamboats needed a lot of it being they were fighting the downstream current of the mighty Missouri all the way from St. Louis. the story of John Jeremiah ‘liver eating’ Johnson and the trappers fight with the Sioux at the mouth of the Musselshell is a fascinating one. The legendary tragic story of the ‘crazy’womans ordeal with the Crow along the Musselshel shouldnt be forgotten either
