MSU Arboretum is a great addition to our friendly community! There is ample parking (including handicap spaces), a separate Sensory Garden, restrooms at the entrance, and plenty of picnic tables and benches placed all around the park. There are 3 different play areas, each with a special arboretum related theme, which are primarily designed for preschool and elementary age kids to enjoy, but are sturdy enough for adults to feel confident about going on as well. There are well-placed and informative signs listing the names of the flora as well as shirt descriptions (in some cases). There are large open, grassy areas for picnics or for tossing a frisbee. One part of the path reaches its peak on a hill which overlooks a waterfall and a pond, complete with a fountain in the center. We thoroughly enjoy taking our kids to see the fish and turtles in the pond, and watching the squirrels and birds titter around in their natural habitats. However, the only complaint I would have is the lack of handrails going up and down the hill. And, there is the waterfall and pond, which are not fenced off, and the hill is not wheelchair accessible. These safety/ accessible flaws are the reasons I thought a 4 **** review was appropriate. You'll want to supervise any children in the hill and near the pond. And, just a warning ahead of your visit...bikes, scooters, skateboards etc are not allowed in the park. There are occasional breeches, but mostly people follow the rules. MSU Arboretum is a breath of fresh air and a wonderful local place for picnics and walking! I think it's a good idea to note that there are Pokestops and Pokegyms, also. I think most people can find enough to do in this atmosphere

It's beautiful. It has a lil of everything for everyone. S/O to the students who take care of it and all the hard work that goes into maintaining it. I love it. This is what it's like to be in a city that ppl appreciate their surroundings and respects the ppl who make things like this possible.

Cute place! If your searching for plants to put in your yard, this is the place to do it! You can see what they look like in real life and actually know the name of them! It's also a great place to walk and unplug.

This placing has amazing views to capture on your camera. It feels so comfortable and relaxed when you just sit down and chill for a while and you can do yoga in here if you bring a yoga mat. But it's so sunny in the day so they must built some shelters and provide things as water fountains to drink some water.
