Wild, what a fantastic museum; it provide so must history on the Army and the various conflicts that they were in, starting from the colonial military. This is a beautiful facility with a easy layout of all the exhibits. The cafeteria has a nice selections of food with a very friendly staff. All the staff throughout the museum are very helpful and ready to provide history on all the exhibits. The grounds of the museum are beautiful. A definite must if you live in VA or are visiting the area.

I visited the US Army National Museum today, about a week after its opening on Veterans Day. The museum far exceeded my expectations. The detail of the exhibits is stunning with soldiers appearing "life like" (see photos). There is a 30 minute movie in the main theatre dedicated to the principles of Army service. The sound effects (with vibrating chairs that simulate bombs and explosions and air effects for simulating helicopters flying overhead). The building itself has a shinny metallic design on the outside that provides incredible reflections of the ground and sky. This is a must see if you are visiting the Washington DC area!

Sooooo very impressed with this 5 star museum. It truly honors the Soldiers; past, present and even future ones, as it inspires and educates children also. It was well worth the wait. Great 4D movie theater with and/or without effects. Of Noble Deeds, great intro film/movie. Very nice meal selection at the Cafe. Awesome gift shop. I’ll be a frequent visitor :-) Makes me proud, yet also humbled to be a US Army Veteran. Thank you NMUSA. Great job !!!!!

I highly recommend a trip to the National Museum of the United States Army. There is something for every age group. They have hands on learning. My son's favorite things were the simulators. We rode in a tank, shot cannons from inside a tank with only our death stares, we fought in a bunker against deadly alien dogs, drones and a spider. We flew on an eagle's back, we joined the Wright brothers on their first plane ride in Kitty Hawk, we even landed a F-15 on an aircraft carrier that was pitching due to large oceanic waves. We dropped aid from a cargo plane, we found missing resources (a humanitarian) in the marsh land on a remote island, we identified various pathogens, and we located hidden targets around the exhibit.

Well worth the visit. Make sure to stop in at the interactive STEM site for the kids.

Highly, highly recommend. Great space for veterans to be with other veterans and share stories. I’m not a museum person typically but I was truly impressed with the layout, the architecture, the curation, and the approach. I love that there was minimal focus on any particular individual-it was about the collective stories of soldiers past, present, and today. The website suggested 2 hours-I’d say 4 at the least. Will return again.

It was worth the wait for this museum to open. It is thoughtfully laid out, starting with the Revolutionary War through to the present. With interactive displays to challenge your skills or to provide more information. Plus a gallery with artworks showing a soldier's life in and out of combat. We'll definitely visit again.
