I came looking for shelter from my abuser and Case Manager literally did the same thing to me as he did, emotionally. Lied on me and made me explain and prove it was a lie then switched to something else all as a pretext as to why they were exiting me after I just got there. Rules that were not written or reasons that did not have anything to do with actual cause for expulsion...it was more if they liked you or not. I asked for grievance form but never got it, I asked to talk to executive director, as was a part of grievance process, she shoved me off the very people I had the grievance about. Tried calling the folks who are funding the organization but you know you can never reach them of course. I am eternally grateful for the time and space I had away from the physical abuse but they reinforced that petty people in power only serve to cause more harm than good. Let me encourage women, or men, who are seeking help and shelter from abuse to please please put all the negative reviews aside, get to safety and utilize this facility when in need. No, it is not a contradiction from what I previously said...it is my honest opinion that my experience and yours may be completely different. People have a tendency to tell you all the bad when they rate a place but I'm telling you it's a good place if you fall under the grace of higher ups that like you they will bust their butts to help you. But when you see the negative reviews just understand that those are entirely true I experienced the same so all these family and close ties reviews on here are bogus. UPDATE!!! I have been exited for this post

The directors, staff and counselors went above and beyond and out of their way to be there for me and my family. I feel that my own family has now expanded as I consider them such. The other residents that were there at the time I was, were also like family to me. CCCC made me feel safe and appreciated as well. Rules were different, but understandable as they provided needed structure. I appreciate all the kind donations that were provided by individuals as well as businesses and the facility workers themselves. The food that was provided gave me the ability to keep up my cooking skills by cooking for the family. The staff are truly a blessing and extremely hard working people, yet they gave each of us the individual attention necessary. Thank you all for taking us in! We wouldn't have survived without you. Much appreciation to my CCCC family!!

They exited me to a 3 day motel stay due to my post. I asked for grievance form throughout my time I had left with them and never received it. I am now talking to the funders and state compliance...will keep you posted and provide names/numbers of contacts to anyone who has had like experience

I’m so thankful to the Crisis Center of Comal County. I lost my insurance and really needed counseling services. The crisis center got me set up with free counseling almost immediately. They aren’t just a shelter! They provide services to the entire community!

I work for CCCC and have loved every minute of it! The Director, Stacy, is smart, accommodating, kind, and does what must be done to protect as many people as she can. The team is constantly offered resources to training and information to help better assist survivors and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and homelessness.
