We had dinner at Somos a week ago, and it was our first time trying arepas, the Colombian and Venezuelan stuffed corn-meal sandwich, which is their specialty. The place looked impeccably clean and the staff were all wearing masks. The food was fresh and delicious. We went for the black-bean vegetarian option (with avocado and red pickled onions). We ate there, at a socially distanced table. We would happily return.

Pretty delicious. I tried with cachapa with avocado chicken salad. I had it with pickled mozarella cheese, onions, and beans, and they were phenomenal. It was filling too. I wish it was a bit cheaper (it was 13 dollars, but maybe 10 dollars?), but it was pretty good. I will definitely come back.

In the heart of New Haven on Orange Street is a new arepa eatery. Arepas are corn cakes that get stuffed like a burrito. Today while on a scavenger hunt I got hungry and did not disappoint! A crisp fresh dining area both inside and outside followings all social distancing protocols. Staff was friendly and acknowledged me when I came in.

I’ve been craving a place that serves authentic arepas and Somos finally came through to deliver! The service was fast and the crew on site was very helpful and enthusiastic guiding me through my first visit. The picture speaks for itself but the food was absolutely amazing - keep up the good work!!!

I have been going to Somos just about once a week since they opened last year. Early on, the quality ingredients and delicious end product was the central reason for returning so frequently. However, since getting to know the staff and understanding the authenticity they bring to the food, Somos has become more than an arepa joint for me. Whether it be dining alone for lunch, or catering for large numbers of people at my office, Somos has whatever you need, and deliciousness in abundance. 10/10 have, and will continue to recommend.

Very economical and large serving. Staff is very friendly and service is quick and efficient. Food is very yummy, fresh and you can tell everything is made fresh and not stored away. 5 stars!
