Throughly enjoyed the food. Started with lentil soup which was good followed by roasted egg plant and Moroccan pastry for appetizer which were both delicious. For main I had the lamb stew which was nicely seasoned and very tender. Service was reasonably fast and courteous. All and all a good experience.

Very convenient to the Morgan Library, but a destination as well. My first experience with Moroccan cuisine and it was delightful. Nice middle-eastern ambience, full with a lunch crowd of middle-eastern men and tourists. I enjoyed the artichoke with mustard vinaigrette, a unique combination to me. Couscous was an excellent base for the vegetable stew But most unique was the Pastilla which was a new experience and quite good.

Came here after my husband and I married at City Hall (he is from Morocco). They were so welcoming as we came in! We ordered a variety of appetizers to start, all were delecious. Then we ordered our entree (yes, we took our time and they were more than happy to let us!). My husband was very happy with the food and the service, as was the rest of our party! I'll be going back next week to celebrate more with some friends!

Superb food - I took the special which was red snapper served with vegetables. Cooked to perfection, best tasting dinner I've had in a while...!! Thank you Barbes, I will be recommending. Definitely a great choice for a casual, not to casual; quiet, but not too quiet dinner in Midtown Manhattan.

Started off with an order of hummus which had no flavor. I asked for salt and lemon to make it edible! Then I ordered the lentil salad and grilled salmon entree. The lentils were hard so I sent the salad back. The salmon was more poached than grilled. Wouldn't go back again even if it was free!

If you are looking for quality, delicious food, as well as impeccable service, as well as beautiful ambiance and mood, Barbes is the place to go. While the average entree ranges from 22-27, the money is well spent the dining experience. I recommend this to all who are looking to try Moroccan cuisine!

The food was excellent. With the decor, which made you feel you were sitting in Morocco and with the assortment of dishes to try, you can't go wrong. Not only that but with the Sangria, which is made to perfection and splitting a pitcher is worth the money you will have an excellent experience here.

Great food and service. I like that they stay open until late in the evening. My husband and I have been there several times and the manager remembers us always.
