Mina was a great teacher -- always well-organized, genuine, and patient -- in our one-hour remote lessons each week. For context, I'm American-born Chinese. My parents spoke Chinese to me, I even went to Chinese school when I was younger, but I've never been great at speaking, reading, or writing -- only listening. Mina was great at making me more well-rounded; beyond practicing grammar, reading, and writing, she exposed me to various Chinese TV shows, provided insights into cultural differences, and delved into the nuances of the Chinese language that I don't think I'd ever have been able to pick up on my own. Her lessons were always thought out ahead of time, with room to deviate to student needs, of course. Lessons comprised reading dialogues, discussing relevant current events, watching and summarizing short videos, taking short practice exams. It was clear she put time into developing a comprehensive curriculum for her students so as to make the most of the hour-long session. I'd definitely recommend signing up if you're serious about learning Chinese!

I feel so lucky to have Mina as my teacher! I have seen a huge improvement in my Chinese since starting lessons with her 10 months ago. She is patient, creative, kind, and clear in her teaching, and always makes each class new and exciting. She gives the perfect amount of encouragement and meets her students where they are, making each lesson valuable and pertinent. Also, her lessons are a lot of fun, which makes learning a lot easier.
