After club Love closed its doors, Sullivan room is the only decent small (compare to big District 36/Webster hall/etc) place for goooood Electronic Music! Great House music, sometimes exclusive DnB music (Goldie is Coming August 10th for example).

ONe of the last great Dance venues in Manhattan. Over the years this undergound locationhas been getting bigger and bigger as they knock down walls. Good Sound system and low cileings make it an intimate night. be sure the check the calnedars to see who is playing at any particular night,
The door guys were nice which was shocking. And the crowd started off pretty cool and laid back. The low down: Pretty small venue, ceilings not so high. Good sound system. 1 dance floor, 1 bar. Separate but ample couch/seating area. Bathroom is totally fine and clean. 9 for small cup of well drinks is fine for Manhattan. I came for an ErraticNYC party to see Drumcell, which had an *amazing* line-up of techno DJ's at a great price smack dab in the middle of the west village. So awesome. The bartender Irene was very friendly and cool to talk to. I REALLY liked that there was no dress code here. Most house/techno events I have tried to go to lately in New York are filled with corporate dress shirts and slacks- (cough: santos party house dress code -- where i was turned away for wearing a tshirt and shorts to a european house DJ ). In contrast, most people initially dressed punk/relaxed. As the night progressed, the balance swapped and from 2am on, it was almost purely a new jersey guido crowd. Everyone was beefy and in graphic T's doing running-in-place flailing arms, and formed a 20 person circle of spin-the-bottle-dance-in-the-center high school bull... Overall, for an established venue in the city and if... I could always go for 15, I am impressed.
