I honestly wished there was a way I can give this restaurant 10 Stars!!! Customer service is so important and so underrated luckily for this business the Owner Michael understands the important of customer service. I called in to inquire about the menu prior to ordering. I ask how he was doing and he replied " GRATEFUL" what an amazing response?! he was patient, kind, and very accommodating!! I've heard nothing but great reviews about this restaurant and its owner. Thank you for being such a kind spirit Michael may God bless your business!

If you are looking for a correct Ghanaian restaurant in America here, please don’t look so far. I honestly recommend Asanka Local. Asanka Local has got you covered with all your delicious Ghanaian delicacies, that taste so good like nothing less from Ghana. The place is very clean, neat as a pin, and very serene to hang out with your lover. The chef is extremely friendly and affable. He will make you feel at home. Everything over there is neatly and hygienically served with love. I really can’t say much, just go over and observe everything for yourself. And in case, you are hesitant to go out there, just place an order from Uber eat and you get the same value of quality and neatly served food from Asanka Local with zero delivery fee. Asanka Local, the best place for your Ghanaian and Nigerian food.
This restaurant has some of the best jollof rice I’ve ever had! It comes with stew your choice of meat and salad. Truly amazing and delectable! Plus the owner Michael is very nice and understanding.
The food is very excellent, the kelewele, the waakyi is good, l loved everything, I will recommend Asanka local, if you’re in in Newark, go order from there.
I had the pleasure of ordering from Asanka Local yesterday. Michael the owner and cook was very friendly and helpful. I ordered Egusi soup with fufu and Jollof rice, the food was flavorful and delicious, meat tender. I also ordered the ginger juice which was spicier than expected, but still very good. Definitely the right drink for the winter.
