I have not rented through YA very long however, Sara Terán, Emily, and maintenance have been amazing through and through. Not only helpful, honest, and respectful- but understanding and I definitely had some hoops they were willing to jump for me, even though they didn’t have to in the slightest. Any issues I had were taken seriously, for instance- we had a minor gas leak and noticed it within two days of moving in and they had maintenance there after 7pm to address the situation. They left us two big space heaters as they had to shut off gas, but by the next day upon coming home from work, they had fixed the gas leak, a pipe in the bathroom, and relit the fireplace. They literally addressed/resolved the issue in less than 24hours! This is such a huge deal to me and I want to sincerely recommend and thank YA!

I moved in and the place was really dirty, along with a partially consumed 6-pack of Corona being left in the fridge. They didn't even bother cleaning. See the photos attached. This is a serious issue, especially since it's during COVID-19. Maintenance hardly comes, and if they did, they don't fix the issue and leave. It took them almost an ENTIRE MONTH to fix an ethernet port. The first guy did some testing but didn't know how to fix it. Second one came, said he was going to check the connection, left and never came back. The third time I opened a request, they manually closed it briefly after I opened it for no reason. Only when I had enough and went in person did they actually send someone competent to fix it. This place may have nice sales staff, but don't be fooled. They are a sorry excuse for both their property management and \maintenance\.
Absolutely impressed. Kenzie was extremely helpful and informative before I even decided to move in to the apartment I have now, and even after move-in she’s still quick to respond and very helpful. My second day in my new place I requested for maintenance to check out an issue with my dryer, and not even an hour later someone was here to fix the problem. Highly recommend.
I have been a Young America resident for two years now and I have had an overall good experience. They have a good range of apartments for all budgets. Also, their apartments are all in decent proximity to campus. They are well organized when it comes to signing a lease and planning tours of the apartments. They helped me with my first ever lease signing and they explained a lot to help with the experience. I have had a good experience with maintenance workers as well. They always come in a timely manner and are always kind and helpful!
This is my second year with Young America and it has been a really good experience. The Young America agents are extremely professional and I think it is really cool that most of their agents are Illinois State University students. They are giving students an amazing opportunity to put tremendously useful experience on their resume. I think that goes to show how genuine Young America actually is. The prices for the houses and apartments they have to offer are super reasonable for everything that comes with the housing. I have lived in 2 different apartments through Young America and the apartments come furnished with up to date furniture. Utilities are also included. Young America is very responsive to their residences' needs. Every time I have put in a work order, they are usually there to fix what needs to be fixed within the next day or two. Young America also provides amazing deals if you decide to resign a lease or sign a lease for a different apartment provided by them for the next upcoming year.
