I have been learning to play the drums from Jeff for about 3 years now and I am extremely happy with my experience. I have several years of experience playing South Indian drums but I had to start from scratch with regards to Western drums and I'm glad I found the best teacher to guide me through the process. Jeff is an extremely patient teacher who sincerely wants his students to succeed and have fun drumming. He has a very methodical approach to his teaching and has developed his own notes that he graciously shares with his students to help them practice on their own. He takes time to understand his students and customize the learning process accordingly, which is why he has students from all age groups. It's a challenge for me to squeeze in drum classes in to my lifestyle as a full time engineer and juggling work & family, but Jeff has always been very understanding and works around his schedules to offer classes that works for both of us. Jeff is an excellent teacher who strikes the perfect balance between fun and learning and I highly recommend him to any who is looking to learn drums.
I am 13 years old and have been playing drums for 6 years. Never have I improved more than since I started taking lessons from Jeff Wolfe. Taking lessons from Jeff has raised me to a whole new level of drumming. I can't believe he had me reading sheet music in the first 15 minutes of my first lesson!! He is a great teacher and I have a lot of fun at my lessons. I really like when he plays along with me. I would recommend Jeff to anyone looking to do serious drumming, he will skyrocket you forward.
Jeff has been teaching my 15 year old sister since Dec 2016 and has been great. She had never played the drums before and Jeff has been nothing but kind, patient, and understanding with her. We have the lesson on a weekday after school and there are times when my sister is tired or doesn't feel well and Jeff has always been flexible and accommodating. He will take the time to switch up the lesson if he feels she is having a hard time. We look forward to the drum lesson each week. If you are looking for a great drum teacher, look no further!
I've been taking lessons from Jeff (as an adult) for many years, and consider him a good friend. He knows a lot more than just drums, like how percussion interacts with other instruments, and how to make the best use of every motion, which is really important if you want to play fast. It also matters if you want to avoid injuries like carpal-tunnel. He is also endlessly patient with his students, and makes even the challenging bits fun.
