The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at MCI is fantastic. Dr. Kalams experience and knowledge of ultrasound is what every student could hope for in a professor. He not only prepares you for working as a sonographer but has extensive knowledge in prepping students for their boards. Finding an accredited school locally with a small class size was a huge bonus! I would highly recommend this program to any future student who is willing to put in the time, effort and focus to become a very knowledgeable entry level sonographer.

The DMS program at MCI prepared me as the US tech I am today, thanks to Dr. Kalam & Mrs. Elezi. Dr. Kalam is one of the best professors I have had. He is very patient, knowledgeable & kind. He wants every single one of his students to succeed & he is always by his students side. The program is very fast paced & he makes sure you understand something before moving on. I am thankful for what they have taught me during the program!

I had a great experience in Dr. Kalam’s DMS course. He really cares about his students and wants to see every one of us succeed. He made this course as least stressful as possible and prepared us all for the medical field. I would recommend Dr. Kalam’s class to anyone!

I went for their ultrasound program three years ago and received a great education. The program very much prepares students with the knowledge and trade skills they need to become educated technologists. The faculty do want to do their best and place you clinically where they feel you will be best fit as they have done for me. However, they do not assist with job placement, so you’re just on your own when you’re finished with your program. There is so much competition for just even a per diem position in my field. The field is super flooded with easily 10-100 applicants per position approximately. It is a fight to find work unless you can somehow manage to get 13-week contract work to travel around the U.S. Even those positions recruiters will tell you you need 2-5 years experience to be considered because of the contract work is so quick employers will want their techs to be pre-trained coming into the positions. Overall, I have to say, be prepared to interview interview interview. Employers have multiple candidates per position and be prepared to wait a couple months to a year or so to hear back for interviews because of the amount of candidates received by HR and hiring managers. This field is highly competitive and just know this coming in and entering a program like this. Good luck!

Excellent programs for ultrasound! MCI has small classes focusing on personalized instruction to learn the necessary skills in a technical field. Dr. Kalam will prepare you to pass your registry exams before graduation, setting you aside from all the recent grads from other institutions.
