As a former employee, I feel that it is my obligation to post a review on the inner workings of High Desert Heat Treating and how they correspond to the quality of your finished product. First, their customer service is second to none. You won't find a more helpful group of experienced heat treaters in the area, let alone a group that is there to answer any question you may have about the various heat treating processes or typical end results. Second, no corners are cut. All too often in the heat treating industry, you'll find that soak times are shortened, process incontinuities are hidden, or you just plain get lied to. Rest assured that I can personally attest to the properly specced procedure being strictly followed at High Desert. Third, the attention to detail. If you've gotten heat treating in the valley lately, its somewhat likely they've given you a part back that's cracked and it's equally likely they've told you nothing about that failed part. At High Desert, that's not the case. Each part whether it be a few grams in mass or several hundred pounds in weight is treated exactly as they believe their customer would treat it. Each time a crack is found in a part post-process, a full-scale investigation occurs and the customer is included in this investigation from the minute it's found. I know this was a bit long winded and if you read through this I applaud you, but I truly cannot recommend High Desert Heat Treating enough for your heat treating needs. As a mechanical engineer, a former heat treater and engineering technician at HDHT, and someone who genuinely cares about advancing this industry, give the fellas at High Desert a call and at the very least get a quote to compare it to the service you're currently receiving.
High Desert Heat Treating has saved the day for us on many occasions. As a small job shop, it seems like much of our work is required ASAP, and no one can turn around premium quality heat treating as fast as HDHT. Their prices are fair and their service is unmatched. Recently, HDHT turned around a job for us in under 24 hours. They picked it up from us, treated the part throughout their after-hours, and delivered it at our door step very early in the morning so we could ship it UPS Critical.
