Go see your local chicken man! You won't regret it! No appointment required. It is located on the family homestead, but do not let that deceive you; Paul knows his birds, and will answer any silly question you have. The self proclaimed "bird brain" has hundreds of chickens, guineas, and ducks that are all clean, well loved and cared for. I got 10 five-ish day old dominique chicks that are robustly healthy, and I am confident already that I will have 10 chickens.

This is just a good ol’ country place. I had only one chick survive a recent hatching and went to Old Biddy to get the baby chick some friends. It was a great learning experience for me. They use antique incubators that must work great because there are about 2 thousand chickens of all ages to choose from. I felt at home as soon as I got there and will be back the next time I need some chick help.
