Took back country 1.0 with Tim as our guide. Very knowledgeable and experienced. I ended up learning more than I expected about the equipment, procedures, techniques, and avalanche safety. I would recommend being experienced at alpine skiing first, but otherwise they will take in any level of experience with regards to touring. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience the back country. They provide rentals for all necessary hardware which helps keep things affordable if you are simply looking to give it a try.

Our large group of 12 had a great time thanks to Alpenglow on the Squaw Valley Via Ferrata. We had 2 great guides (Dave and Emily), Dave lead the group and Emily brought up the back of the group, taking some great photos which she shared with us (free). The equipment is foolproof (ultra safe), instruction adequate and the route itself had many safely features, including metal steps at key places.. Scenery was spectacular and the Monkey Bridge at the end was a great place for photo op. Thanks - will be recommending Alpenglow to other friends.
TimDobbins is a wonderful guide. Not only did he take us to the great stashes of powder on an unexpected storm day but he gave a lot of helpful tips for lightning up the pack and making gear more user-friendly. He knows his stuff and is a wonderful and helpful professional. Of course I’d recommend expeditions to anyone for a guided Backcountry experience. Thanks so much Tim and Alpenglow for a fantastic day!
Great experience! JC was our guide and was very professional & detail oriented. He made sure to answer any questions we had. I left the course with a lot of confidence and feel very comfortable now. Highly recommend Alpenglow!
Emily was wonderful, Logan was awesome... the route enjoyable, safe yet exciting and worthwhile. Best part, I could relax and enjoy without leading, protecting, assuring safety, quelling fears and hearing about my risk-taking. Nope, it’s not the Diamond, Lumpy Ridge, Boulder Canyon or Smith Rock but it was a best 2nd to take my wife and kids,
