I'm a professional filmmaker who was hired to shoot some video content for Telos. I filmed interviews and b-roll of the boys and let me tell you, I was sold on Telos. When the cameras are turned off you can always tell if the client is just putting on a front for the marketing materials or if they're everything they claim to be. Telos was absolutely the latter. It was overwhelming obvious how legit they were as I learned about their program and saw the changes they were making in these young men's lives. As a somewhat invasive documentarian/filmmaker, I got to truly see a side that most people don't and the staff blew me away with their kindness, expertise, and experience. After I finished all my work for them I caught myself thinking, "If I ever needed to send a son to a treatment center, I'd feel 100% confident in sending him to Telos." Highly recommended. Truly good people with great hearts.

Telos is an exceptional residential treatment program for boys. I will be forever grateful to the staff and administrators there, they have helped our son tremendously. I am so impressed with how much the program tailors their services to the individual needs of the students and their families. They show amazing care and love for the boys in their program and regularly go above and beyond to help families, including responding to texts on their off days. Sending our son to Telos saved him and our family, one of the best decisions we have ever made.
Telos has been a wonderful place for my son to recover and learn from a difficult time in his life. Time and time again Telos has been creative and responsive to our individual family situation and to the incredibly difficult time in the world with the pandemic. How they manage to do all this is a true testament to their professionalism, skill and care in supporting, educating and guiding young people. My son has matured and grown in ways I could not have even wished for the time of his enrollment. Telos I will be ever grateful and believe you are changing the world one child and family at a time. Telos has been an effective and positive experience for our son and family. It's all about the people...our son has shared that the best part of Telos is his therapist and the staff. That really says it all for us. Having to trust "others" to care for your child is a serious matter and Telos has earned our trust in the care they provide for our son and family. One of the owners described the process as a "sacred bond" that is shared between Telos and the families, and we believe this to be true. They are not perfect. They make mistakes. Yet, they listen to concerns and are open to feedback. And they own their mistakes. Our son is healing and learning to live in his truth. As parents, we are also growing and learning to live in our truths. This is a journey and for our family, we are blessed to have Telos walk alongside with us.
Telos saved our son's life. My family and I bounced around in a horrible mental health system for 6 or 7 years, with incorrect diagnoses and the wrong treatments. We finally hired an Educational Consultant who pointed us in the right direction. There are hundreds, if not more, terrible RTCs in the US, but Telos is not one. The people there are there because they WANT to be; their goal in life is to help young men. It is not 'just a job' as I've seen in so many other places. Their dedication to relationships and the education their therapists/employees receive is second to none. They care, and are outfitted to provide the real care and help these boys deserve. I went from a Mom who assumed her son would live with her the rest of his life, unable to perform the activities to develop an enriching life, to a Mom who is watching her son grow. This feeling is indescribable. Thank you Drew, and Telos, for giving our son his life back.
Telos is saving my son. I have found Telos to have a warm, nurturing environment where my son is not only healing psychologically, but thriving academically and socially. I am constantly impressed with the staff and their commitment to the well-being of their students.
Our 16 year old son graduated from Telos Academy in Orem, UT four weeks ago after spending eight months there. He has returned home a stronger, more resilient person who is better equipped to handle what life throws at him. He is not "fixed" and neither are we! However, we all now have tools which help us relate to each other in a healthier way. One thing Telos includes that many other programs do not is Aftercare Services. We have weekly family therapy zoom calls to continue the work we were doing, as well as access to our Aftercare therapist to help troubleshoot issues as they arise. This has been extremely helpful. On another note, the staff from top to bottom (owners, directors, therapists, residential staff, teachers, nurses--everyone!) are truly excellent--I've never met people who care so much and are willing to give so much of themselves. They handled the Covid situation as best as they could and did a good job considering the circumstances. As another reviewer said, Telos is not a perfect place--there is no perfect program and every family situation is different. However, these are honest, good people whose life work is to improve the lives of young men and their families. Telos Academy changed the trajectory of our son's life. We will be forever grateful.
Telos is a special place for our family. Our son was sent after wilderness with careful consideration. The interview process was thorough, they definitely did their due diligence making sure it was the right fit, where my son could get well and thrive. A treatment plan was created so my son could understand his expectations and goals, and meet them so he could come home. Our therapists, Barry Fell and Kevin Smith took our son into their arms and led the way, teaching coping skills for life. The Telos approach helped our son and continues to help our family in success. I would highly recommend Telos and their staff. Way to go Telos.
