Keep searching for another company. Their price policies are awful. I was charged almost 400 dollars for their "technicians" to drive between Oxnard and Simi Valley. None of that amount was applied to the poor "service" that was performed. In all I was charged 600 dollars to have their "technicians" squirt 50 cents worth of lube on our doors. The doors work the same as before they did their "magic". Look somewhere else if you want quality work at a reasonable price.

Wish I read the reviews using them, should have known. Horrible service, avoid using these guys at all costs. Hired them to straighten a roll up door not to "secure it for the night." The door had no more usability and in fact was more damaged after the job was done. I'm not a door expert, they say the door couldn't be straightened, but not until after they botched the job, I don't understand why they didn't just quote me to fix it the right way the first time? Provided absolutely nothing and threatened to take me to court if I didn't pay. You can tell they deal with angry customers a lot, they have no interest in figuring out if they were at fault or if there's something they need to do to fix there system (like actually go to the site to give a quote). They're only interest was making sure they got paid, whether or not they provided you with a service. 750 for 2 hrs of work to bang on the door with a hammer and cut 2" with grinder. Door ended up being in worse shape. Well they did give me half off. Maybe I can get a reduced price for them to come and break some windows next time. I own 2 businesses and I couldn't even begin to imagine coming after someone after screwing a job so bad.

There are other companies who are willing to communicate and provide better customer service to potential clients.

I have no problem with the quality of repair work done by Vortex. I have used them for a number of commercial door repairs and their work has been quality. The problem I have with Vortex and why I won't use them anymore, has to do with their unethical billing and charging practices. Their shop is within about three blocks of me yet they charge half an hour of travel time to and from the job. When I questioned this practice, I was told that they're not always coming from the shop and that's why they charge the 30 minutes of travel time. When I pointed out that by charging every customer for travel time in both directions they were double dipping, I was told "That's just our policy." On another occasion, I had them out to do a repair and the technician brought a trainee with him. We had the same issue fixed on a different door, but because the technician was training someone, the job took longer and they billed for the extra time. When I called Vortex to complain about this they did offer to reduce the charge but not by the full amount of overage. Happily I have found a door repair company in my area that is reputable and their billing and charging practices. I will be using them and will never call Vortex again.

Have the same problem as Rob. Their work was alright but their charges are outrageous. I am not a good Golfer but cab hit their building with a 3 Iron. They came 3 times, once should have been warranty, and charged me 3 hours driving time for two people for a total of 6 hours at 94/hr. Claimed it took 21 man hours in their own shop to replace 14 slats and reinstall the door. Did get a small reduction in repair cost but will never use them again onethe two buildings I occupy and have told the management companies for my other buildings to never use them again.
