Just finished eating at Pappy G's, and the food was excellent!! Met Pappy himself and he is a great man with a wonderful personality. Will definitely eat here again. Also definitely recommend....

What a wonderful place to eat! Great home cooking, owner's were very friendly and made sure we felt welcome. We have found a hidden jewel in Universal City! Going back very soon.
We got take-out, fried fish and fried chicken plates. Great tasting and the portions are good.......not skimpy like some places. And for the price, it was all good. Love the cornbread muffin.....yummy.Thanks u guys.....
good ol' yummy food. Even my kids like it! I know during the holidays they have this really good bean pie. Similar to a sweet potato pie.
Everything I have had here has been amazing. Chicken fried chicken, cornbread, even the fried are great. Homemade cooking dun right.

Chicken fried steak wasn't bad but the baked macaroni and cheese really stood out. Chicken fried chicken was Ok only because the breading was over cooked.
Pappy's is just good southern soul food. Being from Louisiana, I love good home cooking and Pappy's didn't dissappoint. Cornbread was great. Great Collard greens and yams. I got the pot roast (which I wish came with rice) and my fiancee got the fried fish. Batter and fish were good and the homemade tarter sauce was fantastic. Definitely recommend Pappy's if you want some good home cookin.
