Hi. I was a member of this club back in the 1970’s. It was a great experience and loads of fun. I remember my team captain was Marshall Day. He was a General Contractor as I was a Plumbing Contractor. It always amazed me how these Captains could forecast how the stone would slide with the sweeping and how we released the stone. I moved to California in 1978. This is a good memory of Curling at this Club.

Went there as part of a group outing. I was pleasantly surprised buy the staff as well as how much fun the sport of curling can be

Went here for a buddy's birthday and the staff were incredibly down to earth and chill. Very friendly to new-comers and people that have been curling for years. Rules were explained very thoroughly and we were all given time to practice before breaking out into smaller teams to play games. There's several "Learn-to-Curl" events per season, so I would definitely recommend it if you're looking to get into it!

It's a fab little club. 2 sheets though, but the warm room is well stocked with booze and the food at the bonspiel was good.

Great place to learn curling and have fun. Members who ran the teaching portion were great however they did not have a dedicated bartender who knew what they were doing. For a large group of us I was surprised they did not schedule someone for the bar.

What a great time! Couldn't recommend this more whether you've seen curling before or not, you'll enjoy giving it a try at Petersham. They have a full bar and a complete kitchen, so your group can bring and prep your own food. The bar is a cash bar. The curling ice and equipment is legit. Real stones, score boards, video monitors in the galley area. It's an authentic experience. The club VP was there to make sure everything ran smoothly, and a group of experienced curlers walked us through the whole game including technique and strategy. If I lived closer I would buy a club membership and take up curling as my new pastime. Great facility run by great people adds up to a really neat experience.

The only reason Petersham gets 4 stars rather than 5 is 1.) With only two sheets of ice, it limits the fun to 16 people at a time. 2.) It's a hike from Boston :-( Why 4 stars and not less 1.) It's a curling rink. That means they have beer, whiskey, and above all else CURLING! 2.) It's about one of the most friendly places I've ever had the pleasure of throwing a double takeout... For those of you who don't curl, I'm not talking about 2 orders of food to go! I mean I removed the other team from my house at a rate of 2 for 1... (wink wink to all the curlers!) All jesting aside, I've played there twice with some Canadian Expats, and on one occasion some passers by from out of town just happened to stop in to find out what curling is. While many might have talked to them a little, and told them to sign up for a learn to curl, the folks from Petersham invited them in, gave them a rundown, and then asked if we minded taking on a couple of new folks just for the heck of it. It's just not something you see very often any more, and it is what Curling is all about. You play against someone all season, meet in the finals, congratulate your opponent during the game on a nice shot, and buy him or her a drink after the game (if you win that is) And Petersham reflects all of these values. If you are in the neighborhood, drop in. it's worth it

It is not an ice skating rink but a curling rink. We are a dedicated 2 sheet curling club with full bar and kitchen. Our warm room can host a sit down dinner for 120 people.
