My sweet girl is a great addition! So happy in her new home. Adoption was easy and the staff really seem to care! Great notes, history and difficulty scores found online to help you make your choice easier. I’m so happy with my beautiful new girl!

Absolutely must be the first place to visit if you are looking for a pet. Worth every penny animals are chipped clipped and licensed. It's a roll of the dice as far as health but so is any pet paid for or free. Sheer gratitude and devotion is much more apparent in rescued pets than ones that have not experienced hardships or homelessness. Rescuing for over 20 years and I have never been disappointed. I've seen people that will visit numerous times. I myself knowing what will keep an animal from being adopted and will preselect them and by the time I talk with the people at the shelter I will usually get the first one or else I will have to have them all. My pet was listed as having been picked up with a number of other strays and having killed a dog. Being such he has no temperament issues or problems with other animals or children. There are a lot of animals who are needing a home. The time spent saving an animal is well invested.

They are super organized but patient. Plus, they are super strict with their covid guidelines: only 10 people in the main lobby at a time. The staff were incredibly sweet. I may go back to help volunteer one day soon.

Their appointment protocol was seamless, and their covid-19 precautions are executed with precision. Throughout my visit each employee I encountered was very pleasant and helpful. Facility was very spacious and clean.

My husband and I found a stray dog Sunday evening. After 5 days chilling with us and posting EVERYWHERE and returning to where we found him and canvassing, the owner never came forward. We loved caring for this dog, but we're unable to accommodate permanent housing and found the Maricopa shelter staff to be nothing but kind, loving and gave us a very thorough rundown of how to call and check up on the guy until he finds his forever home. Unlike most shelters you walk through the door and you can tell there's hope. I just want to thank all of the people that were working the front desk and the check-in booth they were just really sweet and I felt so much better knowing he was in their hands.
