When we met, I felt instantly connected to Lisa and I knew it was the right decision to have a doula for birth education and delivery support. Every step of the way, Lisa executed flawlessly to achieve her goal of creating a positive birth experience for us. There is absolutely no way I would have had the confidence to deliver our son naturally without Lisa. I highly recommend the birth education classes. Lisa did an amazing job educating my husband and I on the birth process and our options without being suggestive in anyway, letting us choose what was best for us, no matter what those decisions were. Throughout my pregnancy, Lisa checked in on me and provided me with so many resources to equip me with the tools I needed to support the birth experience I was envisioning. Everything she shared and how she communicated helped me prepare to execute my birth wishes (she didn’t call it a plan- for good reason). When I went into labor, I wasn’t even really sure it was happening. Lisa helped me feel calm and I was able to go about my day, distracting myself so I could progress through early labor without fear and building anticipation. When I finally realized I really was in labor, we met at the hospital to find out that I was 6 cm dilated, which was exactly when/how I wanted to arrive at the hospital. Lisa’s support throughout delivery was flawless. She worked with my husband to help me feel as comfortable as possible and coached me through contractions while working with the midwives to find the best positions for delivery. Her support didn’t end there. She helped me during the golden hour with feeding our son for the first time, which was so important for me. And she came for a postpartum visit to reflect on my birth story and fill in some gaps that were a blur for me. Now that I can look back on the experience and enjoy talking about delivery, I know why Lisa’s mission is to create a positive birth experience for her clients. It is truly priceless and so is Lisa!

Lily and her team are outstanding. During our prenatal visits Lily was really attentive (despite 2 other small children running around) and really focused on what I was saying. I then saw that directly translate into the birthspace. She had every thing. I'm not kidding - she was so well prepared. She was able to read the room, know my needs, and support me all before I had to ask. I worked closely with Lily but friends who worked with the others in Golden Lotus also had nothing but amazing things to say!

We contacted Golden Lotus when our other birth education classes were cancelled. We are so happy we did and to have had Lisa as our doula. Inititally we did not plan to have a doula at our birth, but I can't imagine how we would have made it through the experience on our own. Lisa provide exemplary birth education and went above and beyond to support us during pregnacy, labor and post-partum. We were lucky that Lisa was able to join us in the hospital. She was supportive of my partner and me as we adapted our birth plan to the circumstances of our birth. We are so grateful for Lisa, and we would recommend using Golden Lotus to anyone who may be considering hiring a doula.

Michaela was my doula during the birth of my first child recently. As a first time Mom, I had desires for how the birth would go but didn’t feel confident in my labor knowledge of how to achieve my goals. Michaela made it happen, I can’t even begin to fathom how the labor would have gone without her guidance. Her experience, knowledge and calm demeanor were just what was needed. I had my placenta encapsulated by Lily and working with her was so wonderful. Easy to talk to, eager to answer questions, and Was quick and efficient to pick up my placenta from the hospital, process it and get it back to me. Not only did she make my capsules but she turned it into a nice gift bag, with a placenta print, dried my cord into a heart, and a milk saver for breastfeeding. Great experience!
