Went to port Isabel to visit my mother. Loved it down there. Would move down there tomorrow if I could. Fished on the pier for most of the day, caught some fish and talked to some really nice people. Great place to go by yourself or with the whole family walk the pier get some sun some ocean breezes. Restaurants bars really cool place. Well worth your time

Its an awesome place to fish only 9 dollars per pole. They will provide everything you need. Your pass is good till 3am so we did both daytime and night fishing
We only caught one fish. The people that come by as spectators or just passing through make so much noise with their heavy feet and scare away the fish. We were here all day, spread out evenly through out the pier. Between me and another 3 different families, a total of 6 fish were caught. Its crazy how much they charge for poll and spectator and to only have had 6 fish caught throughout the whole day and night 7am-10pm.
Minus a few loose boards our walk on the pier was enjoyable. It was fun to watch all the fishermen and women.
Meh, it is totally worth your 9 to check out this pier (18 if you use their rod and reel) however, a few things could be better. It's a long walk out there, no outside beer allowed in, no real guidance from the employees as to what you're catching or how to even catch it. Bait is expensive, I went down the block and bought 3/10. Beer is even more expensive here. Overall, it is a good, clean atmosphere, great place for date night or even family fun.
