Don't do it. I know you're likely feeling desperate, but keep looking. Our family has had multiple experiences here, and they have proven that they care more about your money than your child. It may be fine for a one-time break for you and your son, but I can assure you, they do not actually care about your family or your son's recovery. The therapists are jaded and overwhelmed, and the management is just running a business. They ended up doing more harm than good for my son. Trust was broken and emotional damage done. This was shared with them and no apology or attempt at repair has been received.

This facility has a system that works. My family has learned so much and continues to grow with the skills and tools learned from Newport Academy. My child would have been lost without them. The staff is very good. Aftercare is important and Newport also offers that.

Newport may be good at simple cases of alcohol or marijuana abuse for well to do families but it did a terrible job in the case of a cousin of mine who had more severe mental health and substance abuse issues. With little notice or remorse, they kicked him out without any plan of where he was to go afterward. Unless you are a rich family with a child with minor substance abuse issues, seek better treatment options.

My son is a graduate after a 60 day Stay out of their excellent Program 2 weeks ago . I can not say enough what a wonderful program this is. Newport Academy did wonders . Without knowing much about this program I enrolled my son .(Outpatient did not do good for him ) My son worked super hard to become sober and learned how to stay calm in stressful situations . The staff at NA did a fantastic job to work with him and with Family to connect us again. I Learned so much during Family sessions and Family days .My son keeps saying that he actually misses NA .He wants to go back to become a Speaker and works on to stay sober so he can work there one day, to work with Teens who have addiction or Behavior Troubles . He keeps telling other Families and Friends who have been in trouble with substance abuse \ you should send your son there \ And that says a lot about this place . Newport academy is there for us even now after my son graduated . He is looking forward to go visit there as soon as possible . This is by far the best investment and experience we had . 8 reviews Share review Embed review
