I have to start with saying, we are pleased with the process of the solar panel installation - it all went quite smoothly. Everyone involved was friendly and professional. We have yet to see any significant savings - yet - as the weather is not \solar friendly\ but will be soon...we hope! There is an issue with what was promised in the initial sales tactics hence the thee stars. We were told that if we get our home re-roofed in lieu of the solar panel installation, we would also be eligible for the same Federal tax credit we get for the panels. This turns out not to be true! Both the sales rep and the company rep are insistent that we can claim the roof - we just need to consult a CPA - yet they themselves have not provided any evidence this is possible. It is in plain English at the IRS website that: Q. Is a roof eligible for the residential energy efficient property tax credit? A. In general, traditional roofing materials and structural components do not qualify for the credit. However, some solar roofing tiles and solar roofing shingles serve as solar electric collectors while also performing the function of traditional roofing, serving both the functions of solar electric generation and structural support and such items may qualify for the credit. Components such as a roof's decking or rafters that serve only a roofing or structural function do not qualify for the credit. I also asked the owner of the roofing company and he said the roof installation cannot be deducted. In addition, there are multiple tax firms on the web clearly stating you cannot deduct a new roof - only the panels, and anything pertinent to its solar functioning. It is too bad that a company that has a solid product with knowledgeable installers has to throw this misinformation in their sales tactics.

I Took the time to schedue and confirm appointment and they did not call or show. I sent a followup email to the company and was also ignored. Total waste of my morning! I will be looking elsewhere for my solar needs.

Recently I had an estimate done by a gentlemen named Parker. I have two structures my home and shop I was hoping to utilize to get as robust system as possible. Parker explained the shop roof would work but only give me about 50% of my power consumption with a 17.33 KW system and that the roof on my home was to steep to efficiently place panels anywhere along that roof line. I decided to get a second opinion/bid contacted a local company here in Tualatin. They proposed using the roof line on the house in addition to the shop and explained they could place them on the house and have them at a pitch that would work and proposed a 24.84 KW system. Parker called to follow up I explained I was planning on going with the other company and why. He then said we could have done that you said you didn't want them on that roof line etc. I politely told him that was not how the conversation went I wasn't interested in arguing with him and got off the phone. I then received a text from Parker asking me to reconsider and clearly was even more confused regarding the placement of the panels. I asked him not to contact me again. I received another text that was very unprofessional and which I would describe as harassment at this point. The scary part is that he knows where I live and seems to be quite angry that I decided to go with a different company. A very unprofessional experience with your company.

Overall I am satisfied with the installation of my solar system through Blue Raven. The permitting and approval process for scheduling an install seemed to be delayed, however, I suspect this was due to high demand. Communications were satisfactory. The crew competed the installation after a full day of work with limited disruption to our daily routine. Outside clean up 5/5, inside 4/5.
