Golden Hour is a contemplative and soothing wellness oasis for regular treatments of acupuncture and massage. It's beautiful with an old school Chinese and Japanese aesthetic. Janet Jay, owner and founder is the realness behind this day like spa that easily could be found in Paris, London and New York City. A reserved and comforting aura fills the rooms. As a child, Janet was introduced to Traditional Chinese medicine through elder family members as a way of self-care. GH offers various massages several include cupping and acupuncture that have a more lingering sense of relaxation than regular massage. Just recently GH introduced a facial treatment with cupping, massage, and acupuncture - my first ever. It's not liked a western facial as the acupuncture goes deeper into the skin for collagen building and removes tension from the jaws and forehead. I had anticipated that I might have a little bruising since my face was getting the needles but none at all. Janet also sources the perfect products for kindness to the mind and body. Her staff is awesome! Friendly, professional and passionate about their work!
The Golden Hour chair treatment was lovely, healing, and relaxing. This was my first experience with acupuncture/acupressure and now I'm sold. I was assisted by Abby (front desk) and Sara (acupuncturist); they both made sure I was comfortable and well cared for. I am already looking forward to my next treatment. Just be sure to wear pants that can be rolled up to the knee and that your shirt sleeves can be rolled up to the elbow.
*Update: I come here regularly and I have never felt so well-cared for as I do at my time at Golden Hour. * Just had my first visit for a Chair Treatment and it was an experience like nothing I had ever had before. Seriously, if you have an hour and just need to relax - this is the spot to take care of yourself. The chair appointments are 36 and last about an hour, which is certainly less expansive than most other options.
