Did not know of this place until I went there yesterday. Sever told me the beer was one thing and gave me another. I got a salad and it was 7 pieces of lettuce with a good dressing for 11.... not worth it. They need to dial down their grease on the onion rings too. I eat plenty of fried food and this was exceptional. The menu looked great; I am sad the experience was not.

Both our entrees (pasta with pumpkin and sage butter, and the halibut) were cooked to perfection. Definitely going back. Whatever you do, don't skip dessert! (The peanut chocolate tart and the bread pudding are stunning.)

Dropped the ball last night. With a 7:30 reservation in hand, we were told it'd be 15' before our table was ready. More like 50', with two other parties seated before us, with a promise that our server "would be right with you". After another 15', we had to walk a few feet to the bar to ask for someone to acknowledge us. Apologies and excuses in hand (a table had to be moved from the window to accommodate the 4 of us), our server took our entire order, and proceeded to bring ALL plates to the table at once--appetizers, salads and main dishes. ????? Not the kind of experience that will bring us back.

My boyfriend and I ordered the gnocchi dish and steak last night. We were both really excited because we have heard great things. Although the service was okay, the food was HORRIBLE. My gnocchi looked exactly like a plate of maggots, no joke. If I could post a picture I would. I simply could not believe that a restaurant at this caliber would allow a dish to be executed like this. Not only did this dish look absolutely disgusting, it really didn't taste that great. The steak was ordered medium and came out very rare. This wouldn't have been that big of an issue, but combining that with the maggots was not good nor appetizing. Needless to say, due to gagging and stomach issues we asked for our check immediately. The waitress never asked if anything was wrong or how the food was, which was extremely disappointing. We will not be going back, and judging by the response to the picture of gnocchi that we have showed our friends; they will not be frequenting the place either!! Basically a waste of 60.00.

Lincoln does everything right, from the polished, knowledgeable, attentive staff, to the exquisitely prepared and thoughtful menu, to the deliberately modern-yet-intimate floor design. It is a joy to dine there- everything feels incredibly intentional, with each element of the restaurant gliding fluidly in synch to complement the other. Even each olive in the olive appetizer has been assigned its own role to play in the delicious execution of the meal (The role? To explode in salty perfection against your teeth with every bite). Secret tip: they have a stellar happy hour. Absolutely try the baked eggs.

Memorably excellent. Came in for Portland Dining Month, ended up ordering lots more from the actual menu. Every single dish was stop-and-appreciate good. We're already taking about our next visit.

We went for happy hour and ended up spending way too much money on really disappointing food. We ended up going to Fifth Quadrant for real food. Some places have the facade of good customer service and food, without actually having it. This is what Lincoln is like. The decor and location are great, and while the menu sounds appetizing, the food is really disappointing. Our onion rings were soaked in oil, and gritty. The grilled octopus was burnt/carbon-tasting, overcooked and mushy, and had a not-tasty vinegar marinade. The butter lettuce salad was so-so, and I've had better at places like Grain n Gristle and Interurban. Plus, it was 11, and had like 10 leaves. Service: Thought it was odd that when we ordered a specific beer, they brought out a different beer by the same brewery and didn't mention it was different. You don't need to act super friendly and lovey with your customers, you just have to explain what beer you're serving instead of the one they ordered.

Came here for a Zagat even in Fall 2012 -- what an incredible experience! The atmosphere is amazing and the food was delicious. They paired good wine with their local food. A must visit.
