I was denied membership with no explanation. Don't know if I didn't have the right clique cred or what. Took the tour, seemed cool (if small). Filled out application, never heard back. After three weeks, sent a follow-up message, was told I should take the tour again. Took the same tour, filled out the application, never heard back. After a month, sent another follow-up message, got response that they had decided not to offer me membership (no explanation). I'm a sane, clean, friendly person who has previously been a member of bigger maker/hackerspaces in other cities as well as other creative communities in Portland, without ever having an issue with anyone. Before that I taught woodworking at a summer camp. One of the most rude and mysterious rejections in a largely conflict-free life.

Pretty epic place!
A great place to get your geek on. There's almost always something going on here, it seems, including Dorkbot meetups and monthly JavaScript groups. You can also become a paid member and make use of the extensive resources here, like the 3D printer and other fun things I haven't explored yet. I can't say there's a group I've felt more at home with than the people who hang out here. If you have a project you're working on and want motivating company, and often a little help, to get it moving... this is the place.
Fun place if you're into making things and hacking
Awesome maker space. Owners are very invested and it has a great community. Thursday nights are open house with regular tours if you want to try it out.
