Excellent! The Portuguese Language Institute is excellent. Ms. Saad has taught me so much about Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese culture. I am having conversations in Portuguese now! I started out not knowing any Portuguese and I am now having conversations in Portuguese. Ms. Saad is lovely and works with me and my schedule and still teaches me so much. I really appreciate Ms. Saad and the Portuguese Language Institute for teaching me Portuguese. This is an Excellent language program and I highly recommend it!

I have been taking classes at PLI for over two years and I highly recommend it. I have made significant progress, having started with no previous formal knowledge of Portuguese. Classes are always in small groups and very interactive and dynamic. They provide a good balance between learning grammar, writing and practicing your spoken Portuguese through conversation with other students and the teacher. The director, Rosely, is an excellent teacher and she makes an extra effort to accommodate students’ changes in schedule. In the last months, after the pandemic hit, they have proactively offered online classes and we have been able to maintain the group dynamics and make progress in terms of learning. Overall, I am very satisfied with the classes.

I started taking classes with Rosely of the PLI last October and have really enjoyed the classroom environment she creates. Each class has a variety of students making for very interesting conversation practice in the Portuguese language. When quarantine struck earlier this year Rosely was proactive in offering online courses including private class options to be more flexible with my time. I'm so glad I've been going to her classes. I get compliments on my Portuguese every now and then and it's all thanks to my wonderful teacher! I highly recommend her courses!

Terrible experience. I needed to take classes to pass a translation exam for a grad school requirement. I explained my needs to the coordinator Rosely who advised I take 2 intermediate level classes a week. I arrive and the class I am in is a Beginner's class. Turns out, Rosely thought that putting me in a Beginner's class that was 8 out of 15 classes in is the same as an Intermediate class. Needless to say, showing up to a class that was still learning the difference between left and right was upsetting. I came the following class session to speak with Rosely and a different teacher told me that the classes Rosely put me in were both Beginners -- Rosely LIED about the level of both classes just to get my money. The teacher told me not to attend these classes and to figure a different course out with Rosely. A month of back and forth, offering me private classes and Advanced classes led nowhere -- I got canceled on many times, once with just an hours notice. I asked for a refund and she refused. I've now been in months of disputes between PLI and my credit card company trying to get my money back. DO NOT trust them. Go literally anywhere else.
