I am a staff trainer for a recognized ACCT Challenge Course Vendor. I recently had the opportunity to conduct a skills assessment and update the certification of the four staff at Campway, Matt, Mary, Jake and Matt. Individually, each facilitator more than satisfactorily surpassed every skill on the list, and easily passed the written test for challenge course manager. When I say satisfactorily, I actually mean they were more skilled and competent than 90% of the 1000's of facilitators I have trained in the last 24 years. As a team of four, they seamlessly worked together and helped others in the training learn and pass their skills tests, and had FUN while doing so. Campway is in the business to handle one of the biggest challenges a camp has: hiring and trusting staff to run any kind of Challenge program, ( Challenge Course and outdoor climbing/adventure activities) with confidence, skill and competence, so camp administrators can focus on all the other camp duties they have on their plate. I would feel blessed if any of these four people were to apply for a position at my camp. If I had the opportunity to trust this team of four... to be in charge of keeping scores of campers as safe as possible, keeping the First Aid kits closed and in the shed where they belong, I would be thrilled. I heartily recommend Matt Gilmer and his team at Campway to run any Challenge program a camp offers.
