I enjoyed the area. Is wide open and lots of people just hang out on the grass. There are history markers all around. There's a parking area but more can be found on Princeton Pike. There's a monument on one side. There are no restrooms anywhere. Behind the historical house there is a preserve where you can hike around.

This is the most well-preserved Revolutionary War battlefield in America, thanks to the Clarke family and the Hale family, from whom it passed to the state of New Jersey in 1946. Unfortunately politics got the better of the place and produced the fictitious Milner Report, a fairy tale version of the battle created to preserve the Maxwell tract. For a long time, the Thomas Clarke House was derelict.

Very beautiful park. Less crowded. Loved the history. The swinging bridge is definitely a must watch. Its more of a stroll than a hike.

Decent park, but the building is never open (even pre-covid). My biggest issue is as a veteran, the flag I not lit at night which is a HUGE NO-GO for proper flag etiquette and veterans that know and have served under this flag... I have tried calling around and no one seems to know who to talk to about this!

Went here this past weekend and can't believe I didn't know about this gem even though I've lived in jersey almost forever. There are a bunch of small and longer trails. We ended up taking a shortcut from our original plan as the little ones got tired. The swinging bridge was a favorite and the rest of the trail has a good path and pretty decently marked. Though having a map def helped. There's no crazy climbing so it's perfect for all levels.
