Went to check out this place after hearing that they had some pretty neat stuff. Spent some time checking out the gear before deciding to leave. As I was walking out, a woman by the door who was holding a tag, stopped me and asked me to pay for the glasses that I had in my pocket. However; I didn’t have any glasses in my pockets. Then she began insisting that they caught me on camera taking the tag off of a pair of glasses that were sitting on the sale/damaged gear aisle and putting them in my pocket. I then asked to see the camera foot of me “putting” the glasses in my pocket, but she refused and kept assuring me that they caught it. So I emptied my pockets to prove that all I had was my cellphone and car keys. Maybe instead of focusing on a person who just happened to be wearing a bigger coat, and more on their disastrous clutter of an aisle full of damaged gear, then they would probably have better accountability of their gear. This place can expect to never have my service in the future.

I have been here a few times before,, but my most recent time I went to REI looking for good winter/snow boots. The people here were very friendly and super helpful. They seemed very knowledgeable about the products and it seemed like they used many of the products themselves so they had first hand knowledge and experience instead of just knowing what the vendors tell them. I found some boots and am eyeing some other things for later. I joined thier loyalty program which is a great deal. It cost 20 for life and for every in store purchase, you get 1 free access to VA state parks. Also near the beginning of each year, you get back a percentage of each purchase you made during the previous year. These two perks alone should cover the 20 dollar sign up fee by the end of your first year.

The store in Stonebridge has the most fantastic employee named KIT. I told Kit I was going to Canada to work on a film this winter, and needed a warm coat. She proceeded to show me the warmest down coats, wool socks and pants, shirts, and warm waterproof boots. She gave me so much information about the products and even told me the perks of membership! Then she politely offered to send me downstairs to get toe warmers which I didn't even know existed. She's Awesome. Thanks Kit!

Great place to find many different kinds of backpacks (and, I assume, other things but I was there for a backpack). Very helpful workers (as in, the kind who will ask you every five seconds if you need help (this comment includes all four individuals I saw while I was there).
