I’ve been here a few times and always go with the farmhouse burger, definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. They have incredible dipping sauces, service is always very good, and the specialty cocktails are on point! Hit it up!

We visited Retreat Gastropub in Dec. '20 for the first time for my wife's birthday upon recommendations from co-workers. We were not disappointed! A cozy, high-end gastropub in between Central West End and SLU, they had an awesome food and drink selection, good-humored and helpful staff, and a sensitive but reasonable approach to the whole COVID situation (temps, masks, table partitions, etc.). I ordered the Lamb & Gnocci, just barely edging out the Farmhouse Burger. I had asked the waiter which to order of the two, and he said they were his two favorites on the menu! My wife and brother-in-law both ordered the Chicken Sandwich with fries, the most simple item on the menu but one that still had a unique set of flavors. From the chicken sandwich up through steaks and seafood, along with extensive selections of apps, desserts, cocktails, and craft beer, we just scratched the surface!
Super cute restaurant. All of the staff is friendly and attentive. My burger and fries were amazing. Wasn't a big fan of the ketchup LOL but loves everything else A
Oh the Mac and Cheese! The burger was good, but oh the Mac and Cheese. Very creamy with a crunchy topping that kept the texture interesting along with the wonderful flavors. The M&C is considered a “small plate”, but is more than enough to share with two, three, or four (but maybe you don’t want to share). As you can see, the burger comes with a lovely egg on top. While it isn’t ridiculously large, it is large. The burger was over cooked for my liking, but had good flavors. The fries were good, too.
The ambience of this place just makes the already fantastic food taste even better.
