Nice place to go tent camping or with a camper. They have a nice hiking trail, and their livery stays open a few weeks longer than others have closed. They have many camping spots with direct access to the Rifle River. Each spot has a small fire pit. The bathrooms and showers are in good shape and sprayed down daily. However, the walls and floors need to be scrubbed more often. The staff is friendly and helpful and attentive to the needs of the campers and people who come to rent a canoe, kayak, or raft. They provide transportation upstream to the entry points in the river and you exit when you reach the campground. The river itself is nice, especially when the water level is higher. When it's not, it can be too shallow so you need to step out and pull the kayak to a deeper spot before continuing. I also wish the state DNR would remove the many dead tree trunks that clog the river at times. I enjoyed it and would stay again at Rifle River campground.

Second time camping here and first time that brought the kids. The campground is nice and located along the rifle river. We had a nice big camping lot with plenty of space to set up our camper. The store is a little outdated. The staff was friendly but little cold with certain things. My two large complaints were the kids play structure was falling apart. Large chunks of wood were missing and or rotting away that it didn't seem safe at all. Secondly my 2 year old son and I went to take a shower and were unpleasantly surprised to ice cold water through the entire shower. I cannot begin to tell you how difficult that experience was. Other then that the camping experience was good.

Don't waste your time or money! I made my reservation 6wks in advanced. I was called a wk before and notified that there was a schedule mistake on their part and would be required to styed a 3rd night. Even if I did stay i would be charged for all persons in my party even if all persons could not stay stay all 3 nights. I was told That because I was unhappy with them( which is not true) I was not happy with Paying a extra 100 for people who were not going to be on site over night. My reservation would be canceled. They stated this was their policy. I asked to be provided with the policy as it was not available on the website. They were not able to provide me witha ,"actual policy" that stated all patrons would be required to stay all nights reserved and that charges still applied even if all patrons could not stay. The Manager and other staff are very rude and unreasonable. Their only solution was to cancel my reservation the day before my arrival as to which a message was left on my voice mail. Their prices are extremely high compared to others. Will NEVER WASTE MY TIME WITH THEM AGAIN. Edit Stayed at whites canoe for a 150 less. It was a very nice experience and the river float was more enjoyable as well.

My wife and I are returning next week for our anniversary. We absolutely love the the camp and Laurie & Jim, there hospitality is second to none! I personally have been coming to the campground for 27 years on and off. Some of my best memories are at the camp. Keep up the good job!

It was fun but not a place to party. the owners are rude, even while booking. 11 pm quiet rule which is understandable but they take it very seriously. they need a quiet and loud area. sort of unorganized, probably will find a campsite that is more "party" friendly and might not return unless its a last resort.

This campground offers sites for tents and RVs, has water and electrical hookups available, and has bathhouses (if you can call them that). You can also rent canoes, kayaks, and inner tubes to traverse the river with; they drop you off upstream and you bank right at the campground for them to collect the various watercraft. There are fire pits placed periodically around the camp, however, they do not correspond to specific sites and are communal with whatever sites are nearby. While the views of the river are great from the majority of sites, the entire campground is on a hill. There are few - if any - level areas to camp, and very few hammock-friendly trees. The staff are crotchety and disorganized; they will give you one answer one hour and a different answer the next; they add charges on for every little thing (including showers & firewood - you cannot bring in your own), while the cost to rent a site is exorbitantly expensive (compared to other, comparable sites) to begin with. We attempted to rent kayaks; they were out and told us that we would have had to reserve a year and a half in advance, while others of our group managed to rent them with no problem. The times for the bus to take us upstream were constantly changing with no notification Standard policies such as amounts necessary to rent a site, security deposits, minimum nights required, and how many people were allowed per site were also fluctuating depending on who you inquired with and when you did so. It must be said that when we camped there the camp was far from full, so an overwhelming number of campers could not be to blame at the time. I would not recommend this campsite or canoe livery to anyone.

Do not stay here. Do not waste your money. Horrible customer service. Owners and workers were EXTREMELY rude. Made us feel like we were an inconvenience to them even though we were paying to stay there!! They wouldn’t give us our money back since we had less people show up to tube because they “already set everything up” yet when we showed up for our 11am reservation we waited for TWO HOURS before we even got on the water. They said they had a 4 week cancellation policy even with recent COVID surges. Completely taking advantage of customers and current circumstances. A tree crashed down on Sunday morning near our campsite nearly injuring campers... There are many campsites around this area that you can stay at. Cannot stress enough how rude the people who work here are. DO NOT STAY HERE.
