We traveled all the way from Berkeley to Hayward to try this Rita’s out and was totally worth the 45 minute drive. Great establishment with water ice that my Philadelphian friend said “tasted exactly like it does in the east coast” (Go Eagles!). We got the mango with custard. I also wanted to give a special mention to the owner/manager of this Rita’s. Extremely kind person and definitely made the experience of this commute to get a piece of home even better. Will definitely come back again!

There was only one person working when we went but he was extremely knowledgeable and quick. It was my first time and I got the banana custard. It was amazing and large. It barely fit on the cone. A great place for desserts on a warm summer day.

This is NOT the Rita’s Water Ice I know in love from my home state where it originated. Custard should be soft serve. Called Gelato. Layered water ice and soft custard. Paid 7 for a small water ice with a scoop of hard ice cream at an A’s game. Disappointed. Was looking for a taste of home.

Very friendly service! I had the vanilla Custard sundae. It was fantastic. I tried some of the shaved ice, they are really good but it was a little cold outside to have that. Next time for sure.
