I have been a customer of The River Connection for nearly 13 years. I have purchased at least eight kayaks from Marshall along with needed safety gear, and clothing. I have also received personal/group instruction and certification there. Having traveled extensively in the Northeast I have been to most, if not all of the better kayak shops in NY, Mass, RI and Maine. You will not find a better or more knowledgeable speciality shop anywhere.

Above and beyond! Moving from sea kayak to surfski, I had a lot of questions about boats, paddles, gear, and technique. Owner Marshall Seddon is a well known and respected guide and dealer in the paddling community, and he really took a lot of time in learning my needs, experience, and goals while helping to find me the right gear. It’s clear Marshall has a genuine love of paddling and is happy to share valuable information with paddlers of all skill levels. They have a great selection in the showroom which is organized, clean, and located close by to the river. Prices are very competitive and you cannot beat the added benefit of having someone experienced guide you into gear that will work for you. Highly recommend you give him a call for equipment and instruction!

This shop has really nice gear. Great selection of paddles and the boats are first rate. Located nice and close to the river. They also have a selection of dry suits, spray skirts and other useful things on hand.

Notably, it is his genuine interest in teaching others and his charming personality that draws you into wanting to learn more about kayaking. I attended two kayak sessions on the Hudson River and his personalized attention to each member of our group enhanced the experience for each individual. His attention to detail, safety and techniques created two injury free and enjoyable days on the river. The process of buying a kayak and equipment from him was educational, quick and easy.
