I have been nursing a fractured fibular sesamoid in my right foot for months. Very slow to heal. I have tried many Google remedies but not much relief. Last week I met with Ray Chen, the store manager, for two hours. He had me bring my shoes with me for the appointment. He analyzed my gait and foot configuration and we then tried different shoes, all the while explaining the nuances of many of the elements that were in play. We finally settled on a solution of New Balance shoes which have made a huge difference. I am so very thankful. I wish I would have seen him sooner. Ray is very meticulous and he is clearly driven to teach his store assistants to provide solutions, not just to sell shoes. If you have foot issues like I did or if you want to ensure that you don't generate them by wearing the wrong type of shoe, we highly recommend that you patronize RNJ. Wonderful.

My podiatrist said it was time for me to get new athletic shoes and recommended me to see Ray at RnJ Sports. RnJ Sports is located on the second floor of the shopping center. Upon entering the store, I saw a sign saying if you need assistance, then you need to sign in at the shoe wall. Since Ray wasn't around, Riana helped me in finding the best shoes for me. Based on measurements, it was determined that I need bigger shoes - something longer and wider. For me,a shoe with cushion and support is important. Among the shoes I tried, I liked the New Balance 840 and Brooks Dyad 10. I learned that shoes should be replaced every 300-400 miles, that could be anywhere between 6 and 8 months. I also learned that I would need different shoes for different purposes as running shoes are not meant side-to-side activities like Orangetheory Fitness workouts.

I was happy to learn that RnJ Sports is open! They mandate masks and limited safe capacity to 11 people at any given time. The chairs were spaced 6 ft apart and I was given individual attention while trying on shoes. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is that there didn't seem to be a lot of inventory. But I am grateful that there was the perfect shoe for me. Overall, it was a positive and carefree experience. Thank you RnJ!

What an amazing experience! James helped me find the perfect shoe. Literally devoted an hour to understanding my running needs! I would recommend this store to any and all who are looking for a running shoe that is catered to them. All I can say is so long foot pain, hello running milestones!

With Fleet feet in Gaithersburg closed, I thought I’d give RnJ sports a try. Sadly, this was perhaps the worst customer service I have ever received. From the get-go, the sales associate was impatient and rude - seemingly agitated at how long it was taking me to get e custom insoles out of my shoe (I literally watched him roll his eyes). After coming back with 3 pairs of shoes for me to try on, I mentioned that my feet were ‘wide, with no arch and a slight overpronation’. Again, this seemingly annoyed him and the fitting was done with an icy silence. Halfway through fitting the first shoes, I cut the fitting short and told him that I’ll come back another time. I felt no need to put up with attitude for 2 more pair of shoe fittings. Perhaps the manager or another associate would have been courteous, but the associate I had had a bad attitude and showed zero interest in fitting me whatsoever. There are just too many shoe stores out there with good customer service to waste time being treated poorly. A pity, since this store was recommended to me. This will be my first and last experience at this place.
